2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup at Bhubaneswar

The 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup will be the 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup field hockey tournament. It is scheduled to be held from 28 November to 16 December 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India.

Odisha, who are also the hosts of this year’s men’s World Cup, came on board after Hockey India terminated their deal with Sahara that was extended till 2021 in January 2017.

With just a few hours left for the opening cerenony of the Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018, the city is in a frenzy of excitement.

The Kalinga Stadium, where the colourful inaugural programme is scheduled to be held and the matches played, is ready with flags of the participating countries already hoisted.
Director Geveral of Police Rajendra Prasad Sharma on Monday reviewed the security bandobast said security arrangements have been made from the airport to the hotels where the teams will be put up and from there to the stadium.

Bollywood actress and well known dancer Madhuri Dixit Nene arrived here this evening and will perform at the inaugural ceremony, Odisha sports secretary Vishal Dev told PTI.
She will be performing along with 1,000 artists in a dance drama called The Earth Song the theme of which is Oneness of Humanity.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is widely known in the hockey community for his support for the game, will arrive on Tuesday and leave for Mumbai immediately after the show.

Odia actors Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu will also perform in the inaugural evening.

“Bollywood super star Salman Khan has confirmed his participation in the second inagural ceremoney at Cuttack on Wednesday.

Famed music director A R Rahman will perform both in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack ALREADY IN Bhubaneswar 4 days before enjoying the city and practicing with his team for the same.

Naveen Patnaik Buys Rs. 500 Ticket For Hockey World Cup Opening Event

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday bought the first ticket for the opening ceremony of the Men’s Hockey World Cup to be held on November 27 and paid Rs. 500 for it.

Hockey India CEO Elena Norman handed over the ticket to Mr Patnaik for the ceremony that will be held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Hockey is a Game that will make a great role in strengthening the relationship between countries and attracts tourist that will add a great value for the nation and state.
